GREEN LIGHT FOR THE CALL ‘MONITOWER. THE ELECTRIC PYLON OF THE FUTURE: A NEW ENERGY AT THE SERVICE OF THE TERRITORY
Terna and Digital Magics EnergyTech are looking for startups and innovative SMEs dealing with Big Data, AI and IoT. The Call for Innovation is open until September 30th, applicants may submit their concepts on https://openinnovation.digitalmagics.com/it/challenge/monitower
Rome/Milan, July 18 2018 – Terna, the company that manages the national electricity grid, and Digital Magics EnergyTech, the incubation program dedicated to the digital startups in the energy sector, launch the Call for Innovation moniTower. The electric pylon of the future: a new energy at the service of the territory.
The call is addressed to all Italian innovative startups and SMEs operating in the sectors of Big Data, AI Artificial Intelligence, IoT and energy harvesting, able to develop applications, proprietary algorithms and innovative services for the use, management and transmission of data, and aimed at providing, by way of example, the following services:
- environmental protection
- security (prevention of illegal activities)
- services for the National Transmission Grid (NTG)
The proposed business ideas must use the data acquired and collected through Terna infrastructure (sensor system installed on the pylons) and available on a Cloud platform.
The aim of the Call for Innovation launched by Terna and Digital Magics EnergyTech is to identify the best solutions of high value-added, such as the protection of the environment, the prevention of fire risk and the monitoring of the wooded areas, which will be able to bring a real innovation, using all the potential of the Terna Platform.
All the Italian innovative startups and SMEs may send their projects by September 30th 2018 on the dedicated website https://openinnovation.digitalmagics.com/it/challenge/monitower. The 10 most interesting ideas will be selected to participate in the final day of Pitch at the Terna headquarters in Rome, scheduled for the end of October.
The best startup or SME will receive a grant of EUR 15,000. Moreover, the most promising projects will have the opportunity to collaborate with Terna in the context of an empowerment path, to test the solutions presented with a view to Open Innovation.
