Milan, October 18 2018 – What does it mean for companies to reuse materials in subsequent production cycles, thus reducing waste to the maximum, thanks to innovation and digital technology? On Monday, October 29th in Rome, the new event GIOIN will focus on the theme of Circular Economy with experts, companies and startups. The event will take place at Talent Garden Poste Italiane, a coworking campus born from the collaboration with Poste Italiane and Digital Magics.
Circular economy is an essential component of the 17 Sustainable Development goals included in Agenda 2030, the United Nations planet action programme. According to a research presented at Legambiente Ecoforum 2018, the circular economy offers wide scope for companies to rethink their way of innovation and competitiveness, through a more efficient management of resources, but also greater attention to the market according to new models of business.
The Gasperini Italian Open Innovation Network (GIOIN) consists of a series of events that take place in the most important Italian cities, in which the opportunities offered by the paradigm of Open Innovation are explored: the importance of innovation in mature companies thanks to the external technologies provided by startups. GIOIN is organised by Digital Magics, the most important incubator of digital startups “Made in Italy”, which is active throughout the Italian territory.

WHAT IS GIOIN
GIOIN is designed to deepen the opportunities of open innovation of processes, products and services, using technology platforms, through the collaboration with innovative startups.
GIOIN is in fact focused on sharing concrete experiences and “case histories”, by involving entrepreneurs and startuppers who are putting into practice the paradigm of Open Innovation in their fields.
GIOIN – Gasperini Italian Open Innovation Network – is the brainchild of the late Enrico Gasperini, Founder of Digital Magics and recognized as a pioneer and innovator, who passed away prematurely in November 2015. GIOIN, in essence, provides companies with information, training and sharing paths orientated towards accessing support tools and stimuli, aimed at the search for unconventional solutions, critical to addressing the challenge of innovation, improving industrial processes, generating value and creating new products and services through digital innovative startups. The aim of GIOIN is to train future Innovation Officers within companies.
