TERNA AND DIGITAL MAGICS ENERGYTECH: THE WINNING START-UP FOR MONITOWER IS WISENSE
On Innovation Day, at Terna’s headquarters in Rome, Wisense was selected from among 11 finalists as the best project in the “moniTower” Call for Innovation. The pylon of the future: new energy to serve the country.”
Rome, 20 November 2018 – Terna, the company that manages the national electricity grid, and Digital Magics EnergyTech, an incubation program specialising in energy sector digital start-ups, have selected Wisense as the winning start-up for the moniTower Call for Innovation. The pylon of the future: new energy to serve the country.
Wisense operates in the area of the IoT, developing solutions to monitor, control, transmit and process quantities and data collected in the cloud, via sensors located throughout the territory, using IP architecture. They have created Wiseflex, which provides data in real time about seismic wave propagation and ground acceleration, as well as an assessment of the structural health of infrastructure found in the areas analysed. The system is able to generate early warnings through structural monitoring of pylons to optimise extraordinary maintenance tasks.
Wisense will receive a grant of € 15,000 as the best innovative solution of moniTower.
The finalists for Terna and Digital Magics EnergyTech’s Call for Innovation which participated at Innovation Day at Terna’s headquarters in Rome, after having been selected from all applications receivedhttps://openinnovation.digitalmagics.com/it/challenge/monitower, were: Agrorobotica, Aitek, ALPHAGEOMEGA, Aramis, Gilytics, Guardian, Nectaware, Penta Technology, Roule, SmartIsland and Wisense.
